On a rainy and windy weekend in Bratislava, Slovakia, the European Women’s Go Championship was held. In total 24 players gathered at the faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics faculty, where they tried their best to compete for the top spots in the tournament.
There was one huge favorite to win the tournament – Li Ting 1p , who was defending the title from the last year from Strasbourg. However, there were plenty of hungry players, who wanted to try to snatch the victory away from the professional.
The organizers provided the players with a buffet of drinks and snacks and treated them to a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Li Ting confirmed the position as a tournament favorite and won all of her games. However, in a few games her opponents had quite some chances 🙂 Big congratulations to Li Ting! 👏There were prizes for the top 5 players and the final standings were as follows:
