Hello everyone,
from 5.10. – 11.10. we held another one of our camps in JIGS. This time it was mostly kids’ camp, but we also had a few adults participating. Overall we had 14 students participating and the main teacher was this time Matias Pankoke 6d 🇩🇪 with Andrii Kravets 2p 🇺🇦, Manja Marz 4d 🇩🇪 also helping with the teaching.
The program consisted of several activities such as league games, lectures, tsumego, simultaneous games, 9×9 tournament, rengo, phantom go and several other go activities. 🎓Apart from the go program, we also went for a hike, visited Imaginata (a science museum), had a movie night, cooked together and also went bouldering. 🌳 A new feature at the JIGS house, which our students can now use is the Robot! 🤖 (BIG thanks to the French Federation of Go). Kids were eager to play and to try to win against the Robot. At the end of the camp, participants had an exam and got their diplomas for passing the exams. This time kids also prepared exams for the teachers.👨🏻🏫

It was really nice to have so many people in the camp and we enjoyed it. Hope to see you next time! 😊
After the camp, there was the Jena tournament (12th Jenaer Kreuzschnitt), which welcomed 44 players overall. On Friday, we held a seminar for the players to learn something new and prepare for the tournament ^^. There were 2 groups, one led by Matias and the other led by Manja. This was mostly the last time the tournament took place at the JenTower. Next year, we should move to a new building, which is still under construction, but should be ready next year.

There was a big tournament favorite – Haohan Wu 5d. however, several hungry players below him in the starting list wanted to challenge him and surprise him. We also had 1 game per round scribed on the OGS (under the account gojigs). Over the 5 rounds, Haohan managed to keep the hungry dogs on the leash and won all of his games. Congratulations to him for the 1st place! 👏
🥇 Haohan Wu 5d 🇩🇪
🥈 Adam Dottan 3d 🇩🇪
🥉 Manja Marz 4d 🇩🇪
We kept the tradition and had a lot of prizes for a lot of players for either the tournament results, the tsumego challenge held during the tournament, or the lottery! 🍀
